What is Hugomat?
( Hugo Mat )

Hugomat is a handcrafted baby mat made from non-toxic materials —a removable and machine washable quilted cover and natural latex foam inserts. The circular mat measures 33 inches x 1 inch thick. It folds in half, with soft handles and a little pocket to carry a few diapers, wipes, a cell phone and a book. Perfect for a day in the park, a quick trip to Grandpa’s or simply moving from room to room.

*Hugomat is U.S. Patent Pending

What is natural latex foam?

Natural latex foam is made from the sap of the rubber tree (Hevea-Brasiliensis). It is 100% biodegradable and naturally resistant to bacteria, mildew and mold.

The foam in Hugomat is 100% natural latex foam, made in Thailand. It contains absolutely no synthetic latex or fillers, and is made through the energy-efficient Dunlop process. Our foam holds both Oeko-tex and Eco-Institut certifications.

How do I care for my Hugomat?

The Hugomat removable quilted cover is machine-washable. If the mat becomes soiled, unzip cover and remove inner cushions. Waterproof cushion covers are also machine-washable. However, natural latex foam should not be washed, but may be spot cleaned with warm soapy water. See Wash + Assembly tutorial here.

Quilted cover: Machine wash cold on gentle cycle with like colors, use mild detergent, tumble dry low or line dry.
Do not bleach. Do not dry clean.

Waterproof covers: Machine wash cold on gentle cycle with like colors, use mild detergent, tumble dry low or line dry.
Do not iron. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean.

*If your cover feels tight after cleaning, stretch and smooth quilted cover gently by hand from center to edges. This will relax the cotton fibers which tighten naturally from the wash and dry cycles.

*Do not wash your covers with abrasive items with hooks or velcro, as these may cause wear and tear to your Hugomat. Close all zippers before washing. Treat Hugomat like the heirloom it was meant to be!
Do you ship outside of the United States?
Yes! We ship worldwide.
See shipping rates and timelines here.
*Beware of any additional customs/VAT charges enforced by your destination country. These charges will be the responsibility of the recipient. In certain countries, parcels are held locally until customs/VAT charges are paid in full. If the package is returned to us as a result of unpaid charges, Hugomat will be refunded, minus the shipping charge.

How is Hugomat packaged?

Hugomat ships assembled and rolled in a breathable and reusable cotton dust bag. It will arrive in a recycled box with dimensions 17.25” x 11.25” x 8”

How about for overnight sleep?

Hugomat is not intended for overnight slumber, because it has not been treated with flame retardant. It is a great place for naptime, playtime or tummy time.

Tips

*Remove all items in pocket before placing baby on mat. Even if baby is no ‘princess and the pea’, it is best to keep Hugomat flat and baby comfy.

*When Hugomat is open, use the handles as toy tethers.

*Long exposure to sun and air can turn natural latex foam brittle over time. Keep your foam protected in its waterproof cover when not in use.

*If your cover feels tight after cleaning, stretch and smooth quilted cover gently by hand from center to edges. This will relax the cotton fibers which tighten naturally from wash and dry cycles.
